Metaplasia Intestinal e Fibromialgia
Metaplasia é um termo que significa que um tipo de célula se transforma em uma célula diferente. Quando se trata de metaplasia intestinal, as células do esôfago se transformam em células intestinais, resultando em uma condição chamada esôfago de Barrett.
Basicamente, as células do seu corpo se adaptam ao ambiente delas. E quando as células do esôfago percebem constantemente que estão expostas ao ácido gástrico como resultado da DRGE, elas se transformam em células intestinais, uma vez que as células intestinais estão adaptadas a lidar com esse ácido.
E ter fibromialgia coloca você em um risco muito maior de desenvolver DRGE. De fato, quase sessenta por cento das pessoas com fibromialgia sofrem de alguma forma de azia ou doença do refluxo gastroesofágico. Não sabemos por que ter fibromialgia parece aumentar o risco.
