Nivå 1

Du började känna smärta och trötthet mer än tidigare, du är inte säker på vad som händer men det gör ont och du är trött. Du kan hålla ett jobb, du kan komma igenom dagen, men du vet att något inte är rätt … då är det något du kommer att börja undersöka.

Steg 2

Du har mycket smärta, ibland tar du en antiinflammatorisk eller något annat. Han får inte mycket lättnad och har accepterat det faktum att detta är något han kommer att ha ett tag. Du känner dig mycket smärta och du är utmattad nästan varje dag, men de flesta av dig fortsätter och jobbar, du kan gå till evenemang, spendera tid med dina vänner och kära och ha det bra här och där.

Steg 3

Du har konstant ont, du är ständigt trött, du undrar om du kan fungera normalt igen. Han tänker inte fungera för att han inte längre har den energi han en gång hade, han kommer hem från jobbet och allt han kan göra är vila. Du måste vägra inbjudningar, du har inte mer energi och du måste vila bara för att komma tillbaka imorgon. I detta skede börjar du känna sig ensamare och fler och fler människor börjar tro att du stöter för mycket. Det här steget kan vara länge, kanske år.

Steg 4

Du har konstant smärta hela tiden, bra dagar är få och långt ifrån. Du ringer sjukt arbete mer än det tjänar. Du är i sängen en bra del av din dag. När du har en bra dag, njut och gör allt du kan, vad du än har lämnat under de senaste veckorna tar dig till din dag och vet att imorgon kommer du att betala för det. Deras flammor varar i dagar. Vid denna tidpunkt gör dina vänner planer utan dig, de vet redan dina ursäkter och är nästan säkra på att du inte kommer att kunna delta. Din familj börjar tänka att du använder fibromyalgi som en ursäkt för att inte göra saker eftersom i steg 1-3 kan du göra så mycket att du inte kan göra nu. De tror att du använder din sjukdom som en ursäkt, du känner dig ensam, isolerad, orolig, känslomässig, ledsen.

Steg 5

Han har redan blivit avfyrade eller avfyrade från sitt jobb, ställt frågor om permanent funktionshinder och hur lång tid det tar att få det. Du har hört skräckhistorier om att människor förnekas och processen tar år. Du kämpar för att överleva. Kanske har jag en person att ta hand om dig. Du spenderar större delen av din dag i sängen, även om du fortfarande njuter av den här goda tiden från tid till annan. Du är öm, mycket öm, gråter mycket, känner dig fast i din egen kropp. Fram till dess har du förklarat för dina vänner att det fortfarande gör att du mår bra att bli inbjuden även om du inte går. Du har upptäckt att de enda personer som kan relatera till dig befinner sig i en liknande situation. Du vill att dina vänner och familj ska förstå.

Steg 6 

Du kan eller kanske inte väntar på invalidpensionen. Du kan inte hålla ett jobb. Fibromyalgi är nu din livsstil, de flesta av dina vänner lever med fibromyalgi, allt du gör tar all din dyrbara energi, enkla dagliga sysslor som du tog för givet i tidigare steg, använd badrummet, tvätta håret, ta en dusch, ta en klänning, knyta dina skor, ta allt du kan. Du blir irriterad med hår eller kläder som rör din hud, du har inte energi eller önskan att få “ansikte” innan du lämnar dig, du har inte makt att hålla ett hus i ordning. Med alla mediciner du tar eller försöker, handlar du om konstanta biverkningar och smärta.

Du är mänsklig och fortfarande som vissa saker, som att titta på tv. Försök att följa nyheterna om fibromyalgi, i hopp om att de närmar sig att hitta ett botemedel. De flesta av dina gamla vänner är borta, de har saker att göra. Du måste vila mycket. Det är lätt att känna sig överväldigad i det här skedet, eftersom sakerna staplar runt dig: räkningar, kläder, köksredskap. Du gör lite varje dag, du gör ett försök så att du inte känner att din dag var bortkastad i sängen, du känner dig skyldig att inte kunna hålla din egen vikt i huset. Dina barn, make eller familjemedlemmar gör saker för dig mer än någonsin. De försöker göra det på ett coolt sätt, men du känner fortfarande att det är en börda, du kan inte komma ihåg något, du kan inte komma ihåg namn eller datum och du förlorar din tankegång i mitten av meningen. Han vet också mer om fibromyalgi vid detta stadium än sin egen läkare och ler i princip när han försöker ett nytt läkemedel. Du är hopplös, samma övning som tidigare, samma resultat, ingenting hjälper mycket.

Det är något som de flesta av oss. Vi tror inte att jag kommer att ge denna skräck och fortsätter att söka svar av skäl. allt du kan göra, vägrar jag att tro att denna skräck av en sjukdom helt enkelt händer.
