Um estudo de 2002 (Gur) sugeriram que a terapia laser de baixa intensidade pode ajudar a aliviar os espasmos musculares e a dor que causam, na fibromialgia. Vários estudos subseqüentes deste tratamento também têm sido positivos, embora nem todos eles examinaram especificamente o impacto sobre espasmos musculares.
