Los alimentos inflamatorios son aquellos que favorecen y causan más inflamación en todo el cuerpo. Los procesos inflamatorios son el punto de partida para múltiples enfermedades y empeoran los síntomas de la fibromialgia, artritis y dolores musculares.

Actualmente, el dolor es la condición más tratada por médicos y especialistas. Todos conocemos a alguien que padece un dolor casi crónico o somos nosotros mismos los que lo sufrimos. Los analgésicos y antiinflamatorios no esteroides son los medicamentos más vendidos en todo el mundo. Según las probabilidades, esta tendencia no será revertida en los próximos años.

Sin embargo, nuestra dieta continúa siendo deficiente y rica en alimentos inflamatorios. Si bien todos creemos que el dolor articular sólo se puede dar por la artritis, en un cuerpo inflamado se pueden diagnosticar docenas de enfermedades. En síntesis: inflamación=dolor. Los procesos inflamatorios en nuestro cuerpo dan origen a numerosas enfermedades, pero ¿cuál es el origen de la inflamación?

5 alimentos infamatorios que debes evitar.

Si bien los médicos prescriben analgésicos para el dolor, es bueno conocer la raíz de la inflamación y detener cualquier proceso. Los analgésicos funcionan para paliar las molestias pero no curan. Hipócrates dijo: “Que la comida sea tu medicina y la medicina tu alimento”. Si sufres de dolores articulares, dolores musculares o algún tipo de fibromialgia, es muy importante que retires estos alimentos inflamatorios de tu dieta cotidiana.

1. Azúcar.

Tanto el azúcar refinada como los alimentos altamente procesados (comidas instantáneas, snacks, comida chatarra, etc.), son los peores alimentos para el dolor articular y muscular. Las comidas azucaradas o procesadas (que no siempre son dulces) son alimentos inflamatorios porque irritan significativamente el tracto gastrointestinal, a donde se encuentra gran parte de nuestro sistema inmune. Los especialistas sostienen que la inflamación crónica se origina en el intestino.

2. Alcohol.

Como lo hemos visto cientos de veces, el alcohol es veneno para el organismo y cuando ingresa al torrente sanguíneo, el cuerpo comienza múltiples procesos para eliminarlo. Si bien puedes tomar una que otra copa esporádicamente, recuerda siempre hacerlo con moderación. El exceso es el peor enemigo de los dolores, daña la flora intestinal, promueve el crecimiento de hongos y dificulta la capacidad del cuerpo para desintoxicarse. Esto sucede porque el alcohol, naturalmente, es una molécula de azúcar combinada con una de grasa.

3. Granos.

Los granos no son en sí alimentos inflamatorios. El problema es que suelen ser más difíciles de digerir y si presentas cierta sensibilidad gástrica (por más leve que sea) pueden empeorar tu condición y promover el “síndrome del intestino permeable”. Es un problema inflamatorio cuando la sensibilidad al gluten empeora el problema. Recuerda que no es necesario ser celíaco para presentar sensibilidad a esta proteína; también puede presentarse en casos leves.

Todo esto es peor si sumamos el ácido fítico y las lectinas que poseen muchos granos. Ambos dificultan la capacidad de absorber el calcio, el magnesio y otros minerales indispensables.

4. Aceites vegetales refinados.

Los alimentos inflamatorios más comunes dentro del grupo de los aceites son el de canola, el de soja y el de maíz. Contribuyen a la inflamación porque suelen presentar ciertas modificaciones genéticas que los convierten en algo difícil de digerir. Los encontrarás generalmente en comidas de restaurantes o como ingredientes en las comidas refinadas. ¡Trata de evitarlos!

5. Lácteos pasteurizados.

El 75% de la población mundial presenta cierta intolerancia a la lactosa. Obviamente, en algunas personas es tan leve que no presenta síntomas visibles. Sin embargo, dentro del organismo se producen ciertos procesos que conducen a la inflamación. Los lácteos pasteurizados son considerados alimentos inflamatorios que favorecen el dolor articular o muscular.

Ciertas investigaciones sostienen que la mayoría de las personas sensibles al gluten, presentan problemas también al consumir productos lácteos. Esto sucede porque las vacas son alimentadas con gluten y contienen numerosas hormonas y químicos que después se trasladan a la leche. La caseína de los lácteos es una proteína que puede actuar de forma similar al gluten, cuando ingresa al organismo.
